When I get a bug in my head...

Since writing the last post about riding 1000 miles in less than 24 hours, I've been thinking about little else.

It isn't carved in stone yet, but I think I'm going to set a target date of Thursday, June 23rd (my birthday).

I'd leave late evening the night before and ride until late afternoon / early evening on the 23rd (I figure the sunlight towards the end of my ride will work with my body clock to keep me alert).  Also, that would leave me all of Friday and Shabbat to recover.

Route planning and assorted brainstorming/day-dreaming to follow shortly.

Somehow your plans remind me of the story of the Texan and the Israeli.

"I get up in the morning and drive and drive and drive all day and still I don't reach the end of my property," boasted the Texan.

"I had a car like that once," quipped the Israeli.

Remember to bring an extra cushion for Shul and work when you get home - Hatzlacha!

I wish I had any interest at all in participating in this trip cuz it would be fun to do something so "off the derech" for me on our shared birthday. ;)

Fortunately for you, I feel not even a quiver of excitement at the thought of driving back and forth up and down Israel on a scooter repeatedly. But you have fun, dude. Really.

Don't forget to let us have your phone number. You will receive a call at an appropriate time from us. Absolutely fantastic that you will do this. Any chance you could video some of the trip, or at least some of the points along the way, and post?
