Words fail me
It’s not that I have nothing to say today, but rather I am speechless.
I just read an article that every parent… no, every person… no matter what religion, political affiliation, gender or age… should read.
The subject matter is unspeakable, and therefore almost never spoken of. We live, work and socialize among people we barely know…and willingly (or at least unknowlingly) entrust our most precious possessions to them.
If you are in a hurry today, skip Doonesbury…just this once pass up The Times… take a later train if it will mean you can make time to do this one necessary thing.
For the sake of all you hold dear, please, please read this article.
The last sentence of the article, after reading what this man has lived with, is what haunts me.

I stumbled across this story in the local paper up here in Alaska. It was chilling. He's a better man than I, because I probably would have followed through on the original plan even after talking to the guy.

Chuck:
I'd like to think that in his place I would have had the ability to talk and not shoot (as Tuko implied in the quoted movie)... but if G-d forbid anyone ever touched my kid... let's just say that they would never find the body!
