I also wish I lived in this universe

Misconceptions

[source]

In case any of you would like to take on this tradition for yourselves... the wikipedia article entitled 'Common Misconceptions' can be found here.

Don't thank me... I'm a giver.

Loved both the cartoon and the article.

Some observations:

1. If Napolean wasn't called le Petit Caporal because of his short stature, exactly WHY was he given the nickname? Enquiring minds want to know.

2. Everyone already KNOWS that swallowing chewing gum will not take 7 years to digest. The prevailing knowledge is that if you do indeed swallow your gum, you'll grow a chewing gum tree in your belly.

3. I don't care what Wikipedia has to say, I'll still ask everyone I meet if they know who invented the toilet.

I could go on but I have a sudden urge to go try balancing an egg on its end.

The last couple of times I visited the page, it had... dum dum dum.... a bunch of common misconceptions listed as corrections. (They did tend to change, to be fair.)

Hm, apparently open-source collections of common misconceptions are a bit iffy.

(I mostly checked the firs time because the irony of WIKIPEDIA going on about common misconceptions was too much to resist.)
