Modern Hebrew doesn't use that word in the sense of gadfly, but we do have the related kartzia קרציה meaning "tick" - another term for an annoying person.
antares commented on 'What the heck is a Gadfly?'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c581e53ef00e5503ee26588332007-09-26T23:22:20Z2008-02-14T04:52:48ZantaresYears ago, when I was applying to law schools, I read the catalog for Yale. There are a lot of challenges surrounding the capture of this mighty sea creature.
